India and Netherland launched ‘Clean Air India Initiative’
Partnership between Indian start-ups and Netherland companies-An online matchmaking platform-campaign aims to curb air pollution in Indian cities. It will build a network of entrepreneurs working on business solutions for cleaner air.
According to one report 80% of India is not covered with air quality monitoring (AQM) equipments. It will provide a major opportunity for Netherland firms for the sales of equipment (such as sensors), data, and solutions concerning AQM.
Under this campaign focus was on burning of paddy straw in surrounding states of Delhi especially Haryana and Punjab.
An ‘INDUS impact’ projects aims to halt the hazardous burning of paddy stubble by promoting business partnerships that “upcycle” it.
This entails using paddy straw as feedstock to make materials that would find use in construction and packaging — a technology and expertise that Dutch companies are keen to market in India.
